Dodging affecting hit rate negatively

Post by chico76 »

I have been trying out unitydf with some stelth-magy kinds of builds with high dodging skill.
it seems that the bug from the latest daggerfall build (1.07.213)still shines though, wich leads to a horrible hit rate on enemies on nightblade like builds (and uther builds with high dodging skill).
Using arch Linux

Code: Select all

[xxx@[hostname] ~]$ uname -a
Linux [hostname] 5.2.2-arch1-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jul 21 19:18:34 UTC 2019 x86_64 GNU/Linux
daggerfall build - 1.07.213
Unity build: Alpha 0.10.3
according to the daggerfall wiki - https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Dodging
However, even in the latest official game version (1.07.213), the Dodging skill is bugged, and actually decreases the player's chance to hit by skill / 4%.
Tried it out with some builds with low dodging skill, there the accuracy is a lot higher for the character.

Dagerfall Unity does not use Daggerfall engine, only its assets.
It fixes this classic bug: https://github.com/Interkarma/daggerfal ... er.cs#L945

Maybe you just have bad to-hit chance.

Well. I do max my crit damage and luck. so the only loose end is the high dodging skill.
could be worth to take an other look into this,, restarted with a new character with no dodge, works a lot better.
I am not familiar with the code in df-unity, but it looks ok.
I did kill the errant chars, but I'll make sure to save the save data for the next high dodge character i make.

That is true.
However I have tried about 6 o 7 different builds the last few days.
And as soon as I do have dodging as a secondary skill I cant hit anything.
Trying a new build right now to get some data about the lycantropy bug I reported in an other thread.
this has dodging and short blade as minor skills..
lets see how it goes.

Been trying out with a new character and it works fine.
I'll make a nightblade type char after this one ant test it out further.

Have you figured it out yet? im thinking of starting a new character and im wondering if the skills still have unexpected effects.

Dodging would be a skill that i would add to this build

Thanks
