DFU Functionality documentation

Post by King of Worms »

Heres some idea for ppl who enjoy writing

There are many undocumented quirks and features DFU has nowadays
Clickable quests in logbook
Ini settings
Full controls of dungeon maps (they are in a legend, but to me that legend does not show up fully...)
And lots of other things.

We can start a thread and put all those features there, the thread starter can copy them to the opening post.
When its robust enough, he might create a document from it in a PDF maybe.
That can be distributed with main DFU download laters.

OR

Maybe someone will want to create this on his own, without a community contributions?

I'm in favor of adding it to the DFU wiki, but I won't limit it to that :)

I don't know how much you think it differs from viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1662...
but I'm sure both documents will share a lot of informations

I want to make sure players know they can change the picture used for loot piles they create. I think everyone has forgotten I added that...

I suggest to do that in the shape of a book available in game, so we can also test support for custom books.

Yes, the first post in that topic could be used by the wiki as a starting point, but there are quite a few classic bugfixes and new DFU features that aren't listed there (some of which you'll see by reading through later posts in the same topic), and of course new changes are still being made. This isn't to knock the work that was done on that topic, which is for now the best such list available, but depending on community participation, the wiki should eventually become the definitive and complete resource. I suspect Interkarma might have maintained convenient notes on all of the changes made by DFU to date (?) which may also at some point be shared to help the wiki along, but of course, he's just a bit busy with alpha right now!
