Not getting the letter for "Who gets the totem"

Hey, i need help with this.

I think it might be Lysandus revenge not triggering as complete because i have still the log left. And i can ask persons in town for "parchment" and they say its Woodbornes diary.

I turned the diary in to Nulfaga. I have tried clicking other nobles now with no effect.

I attached my latest save - do you need an earlier save?

What version are you running? I think 0.10.19 had a hotfix for this very bug

(PS: looking at your save, you're running 0.10.20 now, so that may be a different problem altogether)

The prior bug would cause certain quests to terminate. Even if game is upgraded later, save would still be missing that quest. Will need to check the right quests are still active on the quest machine.

I was responding to Pango above, just highlighting version alone isn't enough when checking saves that could be affected by the bug he mentioned. It's necessary to check the quest debugger to ensure the expected quests are active.

But thank you, that's useful information. Unfortunately, I haven't looked at your save and can't offer any help with your initial question at this time. Will check state when I can, if somebody else doesn't get there first.

It appears you've missed a step in your main quest journey. I'll break it down in detail, working backwards from the quest you're currently waiting on.

"Who Gets the Totem?" (Sx008) is started at the end of quest "Lysandus' Revenge" (Sx015). This quest is active but not completed. To get the next quest in sequence, you need to activate the following quest states in Sx015:

• S.08 (LiftedCurse globalvar) - completed
• S.10 (MyniseraSatisfied globalvar) - completed
• S.12 (KingOfWormsSatisfied globalvar) - not complete

The KingOfWormsSatisfied globalvar is set at the end of "Lich's Soul" (Sx021). To wrap this one up, you'll need to activate the following quest states:

• S.08 (killed lich) - not complete
• S.10 (toting scarab and King of Worms clicked) - not complete

So you'll need to finish Lich's Soul before the rest of the main quest will fire. It looks like you've killed his zombie messenger but didn't follow up on the invitation. Head over to Scourg Barrow in Dragontail Mountains and speak with KoW. He'll trigger the next step in Lich's Soul that will unlock the rest of the main quest.

I just visited him in your save, and he's been waiting patiently for you.

Pardon my butting in, but doesn't this suggest a need for some sort of "incomplete" quest status entry in the Player's log (at least for the main quest line)?

There are several spots in the MQ lines that could do with a little fixer-upper. This is one of those spots. Another example is how easy it is to miss the Direnni Tower info which is not noted in your log anywhere. There are probably more.

I seem to remember Jay_H working on/dreaming of making a better MQ.

Feel real dumb now =). I thought I was certain I had fixed all prequest, i guess i just missed that one!

I´ts amazing you get better support when playing daggerfall then modern games. Now im finnaly going to complete a campaign for the first time!... i wonder how many times ive played daggerfall in my life without even getting close .
