Enchantment stacking

Post by billyloist »

Hi, long time no see. I have a few questions about the edge cases regarding Enchantment that I haven't seen anyone else discuss or confirm, and UESP left those out as well. I'm sure the wise code gurus here can clarify without any guesswork, so here goes:

1) What effects do stack together? Specifically, vampirism, strengthens armor, regeneration, repair. Extra weight has been confirmed not to stack, I believe.
2) Extra spell points: do season buffs stack with lunar phases? IIRC they kinda do, but I'd like confirmation.
3) Can we get more info on good/bad reputation? How does it work, does it stack? Is it permanent? How does it affect gameplay? Would it make certain people who refuse to talk to you change their minds? Or can you only see the specific numbers through the console command?
4) Improve talent: People say that this only works if you already had the talent when you made the character, is that true? Can it really not give you a base talent if you didn't get one? And what exactly are the changes for an existing talent? I'm guessing these don't stack.
5) Enhances skill: It's said that you shouldn't use this on skills you wish to train as it slows down the progress, but now that we have the viewable skill progress mod, we can bust this myth once and for all. So how does it work, really? And does it stack?

Thanks in advance.

Okay, after playing the game and getting access to the enchantment screen (brr), I can answer some of the questions myself from the behavior I've seen:

1) Repair seems to stack, but not when it's on one item all at once? Vampirism at range is incredibly weak and infrequent, not really worth the price it demands. Same with regen, but it helps recover quicker when resting or using tedious travel I guess. I've read somewhere that strengthens armor stacks but not visually, not sure about that - even with 90+ dodge and several armor buffs I still get hit pretty often.
2) Definitely stacks, but the moon cycles don't cover every cycle, so there will be times when it's not applied and you will end up with less mana.
3) Still unsure about this. The hostile people are still jerks even with the enchantment on. Doesn't necessarily mean everyone is going to love you right away.
4) Athleticism does make you jump slightly higher and run slightly faster, I guess. Not as effective as spells that enhance those.
5) These stack super well, beyond 100 even, and your skill progression is not slowed whatsoever - it still uses the base unaffected skill level for that. One of the best enchantments for sure.
