Jay_H wrote:I'm imagining a Baltam Greyman-style "sequel" quest where, after 30 days or so and being rank 6+, you get that prompt via a letter. So the idea would be to split the quest so you have to do the "rat" part first, and then the second time would be the "daedra" one. And if you run away from the daedra part, your reputation would drop like a rock :)

I'm only basing this off of what I currently know of Daggerfall's quests, in that one randomly generated quest can't unlock another randomly generated quest. So if it were directly triggered off of it (and perhaps at a percentage, like 33% of the time), that would provide this effect.

New quest idea: Some quests would ask you to forego an ordinary reward, but would increase your reputation more quickly with the guild, perhaps +6 or +7 instead of the ordinary +5.
That's a good point, I always forget about the fact that random shit won't connect together, even for guild quests. Also digging the idea of increased reputation with a quest. Half the time I do a quest just to dungeon crawl and get loot rather than shoot for the guilds gold reward.

Thieves Guild Quest: The guild needs some intel on the guard placement and organization in a certain town, so that future thieves would be better able to avoid them while they are searching for loot to steal. Quest sends you into the palace, which has plans on many of the fortifications, as well as information on all the guards in town.

Follow-up quest: From the intel you acquired, they found out the hidden location of a treasure within the city. The city was apparently using an otherwise ordinary building to hide it, to avoid attracting attention. The item in question is often used for sacrificial purposes, and so the Dark Brotherhood has their eyes on it too. The player will compete with the Dark Brotherhood to get into the place and take it before they do, as well as the guards on post within the building, guarding the item. I've thought of some flavor to add to this quest:

1. The ability to warn the guards beforehand that the Dark Brotherhood is coming. If you do so, the amount of Brotherhood agents coming after the item will be reduced.

2. Possibility of framing the Dark Brotherhood for stealing the item. Some evidence perhaps on one of the Dark Brotherhoods' bodies would have incriminating information on the guild. Doing this garners extra reputation for completing the quest, or a reward from the guards.

3. If you arrive within the time limit, but near the end, you may find that the Dark Brotherhood have already taken the item, and are attempting to leave the building when you enter. Kill them to attain the item.

I decided to do a write-up on that one too. I couldn't figure out how to incorporate every element but I covered the main parts.

Once I get around to checking out that page with the tutorials and directions on how to compile and make quests, I can help out with the fine-tuning of that quest.

Behold, good friends!! I have made a quest!!

I used Interkarma's stopgaps to ensure it works, but I tried to make it as original as possible. I've uploaded it to Pastebin.

Sure it's simple, but it's a fully functional quest with no bugs! And I wrote it in like half an hour! I love this system!

I just realized some of the acceptance dialogue is really similar to an existing quest, but it's too late to change these screenshots now :?

I love this, great work Jay! Looking forward to all the quests you're going to write. :)

I'd be happy to roll this into the next build as a new fighters quest if you don't mind?
