I look up, and there's a zombie about 30-40 feet up. Hit him with a lightning bolt and he fell down.

Anyway, there may be a bug in the enemy placement code.
Previous experience tells me it's very easy to misunderstand the tone, intent, or meaning of what I've posted. If you have questions, ask.

Could you let me know where you were at the time? Were you outside or in a dungeon? Do you know if the enemy was a random spawn or part of a quest? And are you running any mods?

I'll move this one to Help & Support until a little more information is known and bug is confirmed. :)
