Playable?

Its been awhile since I checked this out. I know the game is beatable but how unfinished is it currently? Looking to start a new playthrough was wondering If I should just go with Vanilla.
You can see by the road map the game is totally playable. Visually the DFU experience if way better. There are also a number of Quality of Life enhancements that make it pleasant to play. If you have not played Daggerfall before it's likely you won't miss anything.
Also the mods make the game a totally different experience with 3D assets etc.
