So In my Let's Play series Im not reloading when stuff goes wrong. I missed the meeting with the underkings agent. I thought I could finish the main quest with the other questlines but now im getting uncertain.

If its failed, what can I do to save my series?

You should be able to restart that quest from console and go on from there. If you can provide a copy of your save game, I'm happy to check state and provide steps to resume quest from that point.

If you'd like to try directly, and you're positive you failed the quest, open console and enter the below:
This will restart the Stronghold of the Blades quest so you can replay it. Good luck!

I think if you restart the quest it should continue normally, since completing it would trigger the next step in the chain. But if you dont, then it will be failed. It is possible to fail the main quest in this game by not doing timed tasks in the main quest in the time alloted. Always make sure to check if a main quest has a time limit or not. Failing the main quest isnt the end of the world though, you can still play in the world of daggerfall indefinitely. You just cant save the world anymore and be the big hero. You will just be another nobody living out their life in the world of daggerfall.

Main quest is a delicate card castle, so I hope I won't be making too many mistakes...

According to the UESP's main quests diagram, this is a required quest; From the main quest story, it seems to be how you learn where Lysandus lies, which is necessary to continue the main quest.

It may be possible to skip that quest by looking up where his tomb is and go directly there, but from RP point of view, I feel it would be worse that re-triggerring the quest...

Yes, best thing would be if you could alternatively find the location of his tomb with some deep investigation. A cool quest would be if you had to ask around first and then maybe get "I think the book x might have mentioned something about that" and then you have to find a random book and read it for clues.

Anyway, Ill do what it takes and make exceptions if the situation is gamebreaking, also out of loyalty to my albeit few viewers. I mean, when I was too late I actually looked it up and thought I could finish anyway. If I'd known I couldn't I would have just reloaded!
