[0.10.21] Dust of Restful Death - Quest marker non-existent/not dropping

[0.10.21] Dust of Restful Death - Quest marker non-existent/not dropping

I would debug this if I knew how :lol:

I received the quest for the Dust of Restful Death, and was told by Gortwog to go to Ruins of Masterford's Guard in Balfiera. I found and killed the mummy, but it did not drop anything. Issued the command 'tele2qmarker' and it teleported me in the empty void of the map.

Steps to reproduce

1. Load save
2. Go inside Orsinium
3. Accept quest by Gortwog
4. Travel to Ruins of Masterford's Guard
5. Find and kill the mummy (spawns in a random location)
6. loot corpse
7. Observe that there is no quest item drop

I'm not sure how close the DFU implementation of this quest is, but according to the UESP page, it says it's more likely than not that I would have gone to "The Masoleum of Darkivaron," although not all the time. It could be possible that going to a different dungeon fails to properly trigger the events of the quest.

You killed a mummy, but it wouldn't be the mummy if the marker position is out in the void somewhere. That mummy is probably falling through infinite darkness and feeling a great deal of anxiety. :)

Are/were you using smaller dungeons at all? Changing that with quests active is known to result in markers outside of the usual map. Try toggling smaller dungeons while outside the dungeon (important) then entering the dungeon and using tele2qmarker again.

By the eight, you are right. I totally forgot that I had that option enabled. Disabled it, entered the dungeon, tele'd, killed the mummy, problem solved.

Maybe sometime in the future I'll see what I can do to improve the loading of smaller dungeons. ;)
