I think people have talked about this idea already but it may add a cool element of immersion if certain or all menus didnt stop time.
With that new UI mod refining and taking up less space on screen, it would feel natural to see the NPCs walking around.
Otherwise it would, i think, add a cool element to the overworld.
There are some obvious implications for dungeon diving so it makes it more difficult. (spellbook, magic item menu, inventory.)
This could also be highly modular such that it only works in dungeons or it still pauses quest text.
main menu should still pause imo.

DFIronman once made this possible about two years ago, but it relied on a highly fragile method called reflection. The method broke a short while later, and there hasn't been a substitute yet.
