Redrawing mpc sprites

Post by redturtleee »

Hello, I've just started playing DF for the first time and I got super inspired to redraw character sprites.
The plan was to wait until I had a lot of characters redrawn and then perhaps post on nexus or something, but I thought "why not share what I've done so far".
I've never created or posted mods so if anyone have any pointers or character requests, feel free to ask.

(Earliest ones at the top and more recently drawn as you go down)

Ps, I've seen some really amazing stuff on here, the 3d character project is insane in particular. If anyone want to collab or could use a 2d artist, I'm for sure down!

Its really good :) I like the images in the bottom of the post a bit more, as they have thinner black outline. Are those basically chronological from top to bottom? As the style seems to improve that way.

Yeah, the first ones I redrew are at the top, chronologically going down. I will for sure continue with the line thickness of the last ones, I prefer it as well. Don't know if its noticeable but I also changed the lighting, the first ones have a directional light from the side but I changed it to to a "camera" flashlight to to be more consistent with the game (your character has a light aura in game).

:) its very distinct art style you have, I cant wait to see how it looks ingame, I think it will be awesome. Have you tested it? PS: did not notice the direction of light change as my attention was a bit distracted by...stuff...but having it lit from front makes sense indeed

The later ones are way nicer. Fun to see a more risque interpretation floating around, the more the merrier ;) Good luck on the rest! Do you plan to only do people?
