Archery Issue

I'm unable to use a bow. I've tried emptying both hands, but I can't equip my arrows. I read that you have to equip arrows before equipping a bow. But I've also tried equipping my bow first, but am still unable to equip arrows. What am I doing wrong?

Why do you think you have to equip the arrows?

If you equip the bow and try to shoot, what happens?

Well duh. But in my defense I was looking at stuff online and they kept talking about equipping arrows. Problem solved. Thanks!
