Hi!
I wanted to start understanding how DFU mods work and how to edit them. I have no previous experience with Unity. I see mentions of "Unity Editor" and "Daggerfall Workshop", but on the dfworkshop site it seems I can only download the DFU game proper and no editor, and on the Unity website it seems like I can only download a Unity version that knows nothing about any "Daggerfall Workshop".
So where do I actually find the software to open, review and edit .dfmod files, and re-save them for in game use? I was hoping there would be something like XEdit for Skyrim but I feel like I'm missing something obvious here.

If you are still looking for an answer (probably not, but anyway):
1) Download DFU Source from the github
2) Download Unity hub
3) Unzip DFU Source
4) In Unity hub OPEN project -> locate the unzipped DFU Source main folder
5) Unity hub will tell you what version of Unity you need and promt you to download it
6) After it is done installing open the project and you should see Daggerfall Workshop at the top bar inside Unity proper
