[Guide] How to Install Daggerfall Unity Mods, Step-by-Step Guide

I think this guide can be useful for a mods forum header, so I'll make it a sticky here.

5. In this case, this particular Quest-Pack mod has some other "dependencies" it relies on to function fully, which you will be notified in those cases with a window such as this below:

6. For mods that depend on other files/mods to function fully, you will have to install those dependency files/mods before installing the Quest-Pack or mod you actually want. So do that with the help of the previous section of this guide, dfmod Installation. Once you have installed any required dependencies, click the "download" button. After doing so you will be prompted to pick a speed to download the file at, if you don't have a premium membership on Nexus Mods, just go with "Slow Speed". Then specify where you want the file to be downloaded to, put it anywhere you will know where to find it, Desktop, Downloads, Documents, etc. You should be left with a compressed/archived file similar to this:

7. Move this file back to the location mentioned in the previous step of this section, that being the "StreamingAssets" folder where your DFU folder is. The below image will show you what it should look like, and read the text on the image:

8. Your Quest-Pack should now be "installed" into the QuestPacks folder and ready to go. Here is what the QuestPacks folder should look like afterward:

Now with our Quest-Pack folder properly installed into the "QuestPacks" folder. You should be able to experience whatever quests the particular Quest-Pack mod was intended to alter or add. Unfortunately, unlike .dfmods, Quest-Packs are not tracked by the in-game "mod manager", so you can't easily know if they are installed or not, and activate/deactivate them with a button-click. You have to either remove the Quest-Pack folder that mod added, or just check that list of folders in general to know which are installed and such.

Also, without knowledge of the in-game quest-debugging tool, it can be difficult to test quests for the average user besides just randomly being given them as you would a normal quest. So I'm not going to describe in this guide how you can confirm if the quest-pack "installation" was successful or not, you just have to see in-game and determine that way. But either way, this section of the guide is now concluded, and you hopefully now know how to properly install most Quest-Pack mods fairly easily, happy questing!

In the next section we are going to describe the process of installing one of the more varied "types" of mods, that being mods that rely on use of "loose files" to achieve their ends. This can do many things, such as replace textures, sounds, music, videos, world-data, building-data, dungeon-data, nearly anything you could think of, but this can come with a bit more complexity on the user's end when trying to install them properly. So I'm going to try to explain that to hopefully make the task less daunting, continue reading if interested.
