Generally speaking, there isn't much of a distinction between TES. But MK's work is very much out of the general style of TES (Euro-centric fantasy).
Morrowind is the only part of the series that is separate in style from the rest of TES, while Oblivion is very close to DF in style.
I like Daggerfall and Oblivion specifically for the cozy fantasy atmosphere.

What are the major differences between TES 1-2-MK and post TES3+? By the way, where does Redguard and Battlespire fall in that separation?
I think the biggest lore differences between Arena+Daggerfall and Morrowind would be Michael Kirkbride's contributions. Ted Peterson wrote most of the lore for Daggerfall, and his focus tended to be on the political struggles going on in Tamriel. Michael Kirkbride is usually more associated with expanding on the more esoteric aspects of Morrowind's lore. Peterson's biggest influence was Medieval English literature while Kirkbride's biggest influence was Hindu and eastern literature. I know I'm probably simplifying things.

Do you study the lore of all games, or like the weirdos at Tamriel Rebuilt - only TES I-II and what Kirkbride wrote?
I am a fan of the weirdos.

Battlespire was definitely a thing I would call cannon with Daggerfall. It was a Julian project to do a multi-player Daggerfall style dungeon crawler. It used a lot of the same technologies of Daggerfall.
Redguard was a Todd Howard game that started to explore Todd's ideas and changed the Khajiit from mostly human to humanoid felines. Redguard was both entirely hand made and a full 1:1 scale game. Redguard was also the first game to show Dwarven architecture.
I'd really like to be able to import the Chain landmass, textures, etc. into DFU.
