Someone was translating the books of the game and found this part, we coundn't figure out what this is supposed to mean:

The leader of my band of playmates suggested that the stranger take a leap off the
mentioned wharf unless he wished to join me there when they
were done with their evening meal.

like, the leader suggested that the stranger go awat unless he wished to get kicked too?

This is the general meaning I understand, but maybe a native speaker can confirm, too.

As I got it,

higher in the text they mentioned wharf as some lowlife place, where you'd fight for food with rats. So, if you don't want to end up beaten the same way as a book hero, you'd better go there and throw yourself from that wharf.
