Oh now I see. Thats indeed even better. To have the pixels in a 4x ratio so its not smudged. Thats a great idea!DunnyOfPenwick wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 5:24 pm So for example you could have a 960x540 mode for 16:9 screens. The pixels would be exactly 4 times bigger than 1920x1080 mode. Then a 840x525 mode for 16:10 displays, where the pixels are 4 times bigger than 1680x1050 mode., or 960x600 etc.
And yes, majority of ppl use 16:9 Im just a dinosaur with 16:10 but I like that aspect ratio.
If we can add few such custom resolutions for both aspects, and make em higher than current 640x400 it would be really nice.
Or is it something to just downright type in the config.ini and be done with that? But that would not be too user friendly.
EDIT: tested 960*600 (1/2 of my current 1920x1200 res) and it looks really good plus runs in fullscreen without letterboxing ofc. But problem is, its applied to everything, including the DFU fonts etc. Retro mode is good that it works only on 3D view, thats preferable.
So in that sense, having 960x600 (16:10) + 960x540 (16:9) would be ideal. I would not add any resolutions lower than that, as thats too close to current 640x400.
On a higher note, stuff like:
1280 x 800 (16:10) (1600p 16:10 users)
1280 x 720 (16:9) (1440p 16:9 users)
could be ok as well?
