Subtitled videos don't appear in-game, and the game freeze

All the cutscenes turn into a black screen that doesn't go away until I left click with the mouse, and after a few seconds the game freezes and the message “the game is not responding” appears. When I delete the “Movies” folder, the problem is solved, but then I have no subtitles. I did everything Daneel's tutorial said, so I'm not sure what I did wrong. Thanks in advance guys
